Intelligent information systems are one of the fundamental sections in any digitisation process
and, therefore, in Industry 4.0. It is in this area where the intelligent monitoring and control of
the different aspects associated with the automated processes (industry 3.0) is incorporated, obtaining margins for improvement in different perspectives. Monitoring includes, among other technologies, intelligent control of production through the use of industrial Internet of Things (IoT) systems, Blockchain, cloud technology and Big Data.

The main objective of the OPITRADE project (Optimisation in Industrial Processes through the
Application of Decentralised Traceability) is to integrate several technologies to monitor and
manage the circular economy of plastic at the level of equipment and production process. This
objective will provide the process with the possibility of analysing it, optimising it and, in future

applications, even favouring predictive and preventive maintenance of the production chain.
As a result of this transformation, a generalised procedure will be obtained that will allow the
definition of a methodology that will provide a transformation procedure applicable to other
production processes in the industrial sector.

The project has been approved within the Digital Technologies Projects line of the Call for Aid to
Innovative Business Groups 2022 (AEI) promoted by the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade
of the Government of Spain.
