The Ministry of Industry describes the Smart City Cluster as “excellent”

The Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism has renewed, with the rating of “excellent”, the registration of the Smart City Cluster in the Register of Innovative Business Groups (AEI), after the positive assessment of the strategic plan presented by the entity and once Turned four years as AEI.
In its resolution, the Ministry of Industry has estimated in the Smart City Cluster “to have obtained a high degree of performance in the development of projects and services relevant to the improvement of the competitiveness of the associated companies, in the organization of its own structure of management and in the achievement of a sustainable financial structure ”.
The Evaluation Commission responsible for renovating the Smart City Cluster as excellent has been composed of representatives of the General Directorate of Industry and Small and Medium Enterprises, the Technical Cabinet of the General Secretariat of Industry and Small and Medium Enterprises, of the Under secretariat of the Ministry, the Ministry of Tourism, SEGITTUR, the National Innovation Company (ENISA), the General Directorate of Innovation and Competitiveness of the Secretariat of State for Research, Development and Innovation and the Centre for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI).
The AEI Registry recognizes the role of Spanish clusters in the national and European political framework as agents of fostering collaboration between universities and R&D centres and the productive fabric as a measure of improving competitiveness.
In this sense, the Smart City Cluster stands out for having promoted this type of collaboration and executing joint projects of innovative scope in the field of smart cities, the control of a critical mass that has allowed achieving national and international visibility in the associated companies, especially SMEs
The president of the Smart City Cluster, Mariano Barroso, has congratulated himself on the resolution of the Ministry “since not only our organization is recognized but also the efforts of all the companies and institutions that are members of the cluster that come from its establishment a valuable work for promote concrete projects that are making cities gain in efficiency, sustainability and comfort for citizens ”.
