Smart City Cluster participates in a meeting with the City of Linares for its intelligent business development
The City Council of Linares wants to promote an action plan to transform the municipality into an intelligent and sustainable business environment.

The president of Smart City Cluster, Mariano Barroso, has participated in a meeting held with the mayor of Linares, Raúl Caro, organized together with the Cetemet Technology Centre and the University of Jaen, in order to promote an action plan capable of transforming the city in an intelligent and sustainable business environment that attracts new companies to bet on employment and technology.
The meeting, held at the Linares Scientific-Technological Campus, has been attended by SMEs and large national companies, both from the Cluster and from the local economic fabric.
The event has served to present the Smart Industrial Park as a city space designed with intelligent planning for companies to collaborate in the use of infrastructure and urban planning, systems, advanced services, technology, data connection and talent.
With this project, we want to promote an action plan to transform Linares into an intelligent and sustainable business environment with infrastructures and technologies with high added value, so that it serves for economic development, the creation of quality employment and the retention of talent.
The president of Smart City Cluster, Mariano Barroso, has assured that «in this project there is room for all types of companies and proposals, from large telephone companies to small start-ups» while emphasizing that «Linares has a very clear industrial DNA for 200 years and, although that industry is no longer what it is now, it can be regenerated towards a 4.0 industry in which new technologies redefine the present and future of the city, with the aim of improving the quality of life and employment of its inhabitants ”.
For his part, the mayor of Linares, Raúl Caro, has said that the City Council seeks to achieve the total transformation of the city. «We want Linares to be an intelligent city, to get on the smart cities train to make this transformation possible.»
