Clusters and SMEs Meet at Transfiere to Present Findings from Innovation Projects

Clusters from all over Spain attended the last edition of the Transfiere Forum to present the objectives, progress, and findings of the innovation projects they are developing within the framework of the support program for Innovative Business Associations.

April 12, 2024

Smart City Cluster took this opportunity to highlight all the projects it collaborates on with the initiative coordinators. One by one, we review what the three-day event at Transfiere entailed:

Agrotwin 2.0. The digital twin has been successfully applied to two agricultural operations, one intensive and one extensive. The outcome has been so successful that the next step is to develop an application for farmers to have all the data at their fingertips.

DegrasCPI-LCA. This carbon footprint calculator is already very functional. Furthermore, five or six features have been identified that would be very interesting to develop in a second phase. With what is available so far, a snapshot of the footprint of a building or an industry can already be taken.

GEDIAV 2. In this second phase, the project has expanded from one treatment station to four and has performed very well. Most of the objectives have been met, and the next phase will add more sensors to obtain new metrics. Thanks to the digital twin, there is already a significant savings in operations and maintenance.

EMAPA 2.0. The launch of the platform has automated vulnerabilities in cybersecurity (hardware and software) for a manufacturing industry. A process that was previously done manually has been automated, resulting in greater optimization of human resources.

Mission Alpha. The first phase addressed the development of a flat satellite prototype. The ultimate goal of the subsequent phases is the orbiting of a satellite with 100% Andalusian technology, which will benefit the fields of technology, education, and science.

Leading. Data from various energy communities have already been collected for the platform being developed, which will give users full control and information about their energy consumption.

Empower. This project, which seeks to save on electricity bills, has already achieved a comparison tool for utility providers and is conducting the first trials with invoice scanning. Especially with simple invoices, the results are promising, and the plan is to bring all the functionalities to market this year.

Flexener III. The platform performs acceptably, is operational, and can be scaled in multiple scenarios. The next step includes the pre-commercial tool. In phase three, three pilots were deployed in Spain that provide energy flexibility and allow it to be exploited in future markets with utility providers or energy aggregators.

BIM4PV. A virtual platform based on digital twins to facilitate work in the design, operation, and maintenance of photovoltaic systems. A possible phase two is being considered to finalize a product and bring it to market.

Cenit 2.0. The first pilot of the digital platform has been developed and is operational. The next phase would involve taking all the tests that have been conducted to a real environment and ultimately achieving a commercial tool.

GEDEFEC III. In this third phase, synthetic data from agricultural operations have been created through simulations, which could lead to a new business line. Furthermore, the developments achieved could also be applied to other types of crops besides nuts or to more open environments like parks and gardens.

AI System for Automatic Management of Green Areas. The developed system optimizes the management, irrigation, and maintenance of a green area. It uses various technologies (IoT devices) to capture data on the state of vegetation and its environment, communicates with the platform, which then uses AI to calculate the best action options.
